By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: A towel covered the face of Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. as he walked off the field Monday night following the Huskies’ 34-13 loss to Michigan in the national championship game. Penix did not mince words after Washington’s 21-game winning streak snapped and Michigan’s defense held the Heisman runner-up to 255 yards passing, a touchdown and two interceptions.
“They’re a good team. We just didn’t execute in the moments when we needed to,” Penix said after the game, via Dawgman.
