The Big Ten threw its hat into the ring of media rights and realignment news again recently.

The news wasn’t positive, however, with reports of new commissioner Tony Petitti having several key details to sort out in the Conference’s new, historic media deal.

Petitti now finds himself in a similar position in some ways to Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff in cleaning up the mess of a predecessor.

On today’s episode of Locked On Pac-12, I’m joined by Nate Dickinson of ‘Locked On Big Ten’.

We look at how—if at all—these disruptive reports could be to altering the Big Ten’s mindset in pursuing expansion further westward.

Northwestern President (formerly at Oregon) Michael Schill made comments about the Big Ten expanding further west to ease the travel burden on USC and UCLA’s student-athletes.

A move still doesn’t seem imminent, but the Big Ten appears to be constantly prepared should the landscape change.
