By Chris Hummer, 247Sports: There is no more perilous time in college football than right after a coaching change. That didn’t used to be the case. Five years ago, schools would have weeks to find a replacement and identify the perfect coaching fit.
Now? There’s no time at all, because when you lose your head coach — via a firing or a school hiring them away — players are immediately granted the ability to enter the transfer portal thanks to a 30-day window given to players by the NCAA.
