By Sam Marsdale, 247Sports: Utah managed to squeak out a 21-17 victory at Washington State on Thursday night despite Utes star quarterback Cameron Rising unexpectedly missing the game because of injury.
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham turned to Bryson Barnes, who was 17-of-27 passing for 175 yards and one touchdown. He was also effective on the ground, rushing for 58 yards, including a 28-yard sprint late in the game. Following the game, Whittingham told reporters it was Rising’s decision to sit.
