Dellenger: Michigan set to hire Utah's Kyle Whittingham as next coach

Michigan officials are expected to complete negotiations on Friday to hire Utah coach Kyle Whittingham, Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger confirmed. Whittingham is expected to join the team in Orlando for its Dec. 31 Citrus Bowl meeting the Texas Longhorns, Dellenger reported.

Whittingham recently announced he was stepping down after 21 years in charge of the Utes, though he’d made clear he wasn’t necessarily retiring from coaching.
