By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: Whitman County Superior Court Judge Gary Libey today granted Washington State and Oregon State the temporary restraining order they requested Friday to block the Pac-12’s ten departing schools from holding a meeting of presidents believed to have been called to change the conference’s bylaws to prevent WSU and OSU — as the last two members — from controlling the rights and revenues of the Pac-12.
Counsel for the Pac-12 argued that the proposed Pac-12 meeting — currently scheduled for Wednesday — is to conduct regular conference business (like “keeping the lights on”) and, when asked directly by Judge Libey, replied in rambling fashion that the notion of amending the bylaws is a “mischaracterization.”
