By Jamey Vinnick, CougFan: The decision has been made. John Mateer will be Washington State’s starting quarterback when the Cougs open the season in less than two weeks vs. Portland State, having edged out Zevi Eckhaus, WSU head man Jake Dickert announced after practice on Monday.
“We’re going to name John Matter the starting quarterback at Washington State,” said Dickert. “I think both of those guys handled it the way I would expect. Zevi is a competitor.
