Improved offense unable to prevent worst ASU start since 1976

A droopy passing attack had already grown to be a concern ahead of the Utah game, but at least ASU could tout a promising ground game headed by senior running back Xazavian Valladay — the active FBS rushing leader — and supplemented by explosive sophomore backup Daniyel Ngata.
