By Cody Nagel, 247Sports: O.J. Simpson, a former star running back at USC and later the Buffalo Bills, died Wednesday after a battle with cancer,his family announced.
Acquitted of double murder in 1995 and later convicted of armed robbery in 2008, Simpson remained a polarizing figure with his legacy in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and 1968 Heisman Trophy untouched.
The Heisman Trust extended its sympathy to the Simpson family Thursday upon learning of his death.
