Duck Territory: The Green Bay Packers have elected to move former Oregon center Jake Hanson to their practice squad after trimming their roster down to 53 players this weekend. Hanson was not included on the 53-man roster but cleared waivers and was placed to the practice squad on Sunday.
Hanson was drafted by the Packers in the sixth round of this year’s NFL Draft to back up seventh-year veteran center Corey Linsley, who has started 86 games over the last six seasons for Green Bay. The Packers 53-man roster only has one full-time center in Linsley but the team can use guards Lucas Patrick or Elgton Jenkins as an emergency replacement should Linsley need an emergency replacement.
