Freshman safety Shawn Russ leaves ASU football team

By Chris Karpman, SunDevil Source: Freshman defensive back Shawn Russ is no longer on Arizona State’s team and is expected to transfer, people directly familiar with his situation said.

Russ, who is from Fort Myers, Florida, has been removed from the school’s official roster. He practiced with the Sun Devils as late as recently as one week ago, working with the scout team while redshirting this season.
