CougFan: Deone Bucannon spent most of this season away from the action – but he’ll finish his seventh NFL campaign in the Super Bowl. Bucannon, one of great defenders in Washington State history while starring at safety from 2010-13, has this month quickly gone from a postseason practice squad addition in Tampa Bay, to seeing game action on special teams throughout the Buccaneers’ playoff run.
In addition to his special teams duties, Bucannon (6-1, 211) is listed on the Bucs’ depth chart headed into the Super Bowl as the backup at one of the inside linebacker spots in Tampa Bay’s 3-4 defense. This will be Bucannon’s first appearance in a Super Bowl.
