247Sports: The 2020 college football season already is an unprecedented one. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, conferences have elected to play a conference-only schedule, which will make things even more difficult for the College Football Playoff selection committee when the time comes.
Without some of the best teams in the country unable to play each other in non-conference matchups, the committee will have to select teams based on the conference-only schedule results. This could make it easier for some teams to have an unblemished record come postseason time, such as Ohio State and Clemson who have relatively easy schedules compared to other SEC teams.
