- Kyle Whittingham had Utah on the brink of College Football Playoff consideration in 2019 before the Pac-12 Championship loss to Oregon.
- Washington will be an interesting case. As 247Sports’ Bud Elliot points out, recruiting has gone down under Jimmy Lake. After signing 27 blue-chip players in 2018-19, the Huskies have signed just 13 in the recent two years.
- From hot seat to one win away from a Pac-12 title and unbeaten season, Clay Helton extended his tenure in Los Angeles last fall. And with 2021’s recruiting efforts considerably better than the previous cycle, USC is trending in a positive direction again under his watch.
- Mario Cristobal has agreed to an extension through the 2025 season, which could not have come at a better time for Oregon, who will try and hold off USC for top billing in the Pac-12 over the next half-decade, as recruiting battles California are heating up in a big way between the two programs.
