Buff Stampede: Buff Nation mourned the passing of Betty Hoover in August. She lost a battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 95. Hoover and and her twin sister Peggy Coppom became famous within the CU fanbase over the years due to their overwhelming spirit when cheering on the Buffaloes.
Karl Dorrell took his wife’s advice and, with athletic director Rick George by his side, he presented Peggy with the game ball from his first win as Colorado’s head coach.
