By R.J. Abeytia, USCFootball.com: USC’s coaches were clear about the net-positive status of the Trojan defensive game film against San Jose State. There were rush-lane issues, communication issues and yes, play-call issues. The consensus between head coach Lincoln Riley and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch was the struggles were imminently correctable.
The Trojans did show improvement in terms of tackling and overall pass defense. In times like these, it helps to have some veterans on the squad for perspective.
