By Kevin Borba, All Cardinal: The transfer portal and one-time transfer rule changed college sports forever, and for the better. The allowance of NIL only increased how big of a tool the portal can be, but not every program is able to use it the same.
While programs like USC are able to go from bottom feeder to national contender in a calendar year thanks to adding 33 players from the portal, Stanford doesn’t have that same luxury.
