Colorado MBB players’ parents dealing with realities of pandemic season

CU BuffZone: It is a pregame ritual Evan Battey has followed throughout his Colorado basketball career as dutifully as any workout routine.

 

 

After the early warm-ups on game night, Battey always lumbers over to the edge of the stands at the CU Events Center to find his mother and No. 1 cheerleader, Rosalind “Roz” Lewis. They share a hug and a kiss and, as Battey missed a season in high school and his first year at CU for reasons beyond his control, there is some motherly advice to remind Battey to make sure he has fun on the court once tipoff arrives.
