By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: College football top 25 rankings are surfacing this month coming out of spring practice. ESPN’s preseason Football Power Index was the latest to update ahead of the 2022 season this week.
Featuring several notable surprises and stunning omissions, the FPI includes the usual suspects — Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia — near the top, but there are a couple of programs coming off impressive campaigns that are nowhere to be found in the rankings, highlighted by NC State, a team with much of its firepower returning.
