By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: Coaches tell their players and staff to never look ahead, but at college football’s halfway point, the playoff is slowly coming into focus. The first playoff rankings release later this month and the selection committee with have its pick of unbeatens to choose from in the early going.
By a subjective count, there are still 17 teams in contention for four playoff spots at midseason, including a couple who are already saddled with a loss, but not out of yet.
