By Cody Nagel, 247Sports: The Big Ten became the first power conference to span coast-to-coast with its recent expansion moves, adding Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington. While the conference was once centered in the Midwest and Northeast, regional boundaries have largely disappeared in the modern landscape of college athletic conferences. That puts added stress on the schedule makers and those in charge of travel.
As the Big Ten enters this new era, many of its members will post a record number of miles traveled in a season.
