By Cody Nagel, 247Sports: The Big Ten flexed its muscles with a second national championship in as many years, solidifying its position in a battle with the SEC for superiority in the new age of college football. The top half of the Big Ten was stronger than any other conference last season and could be once again in 2025 with elite talent returning and high expectations for its powerhouse programs. That sets the stage for a fierce competition in the Big Ten championship race.
According to the oddsmakers, four teams are separated from the rest of the Big Ten on the list of early favorites to win the conference crown: Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State. However, an unexpected contender should not be ruled out, especially after what Indiana did in going from a projected bottom-tier team to a College Football Playoff participant.
