ASU defensive back Cole Martin out for the season due to hip injury

By Chris Karpman, SunDevil Source: Sophomore defensive back Cole Martin will not play for Arizona State this season due to a troublesome hip injury that has sidelined him for several weeks. He has a redshirt year available that will be used.

“He’s going to get surgery on a few items that have been lingering since he got here,” ASU coach Kenny Dillingham said. “He’s trying to push through it. He’s a really tough kid. It just got to a point where we were like, ‘We’ve got to get him right.'”

ASU defensive back Cole Martin out for the season due to hip injury

The Sun Devils are thin at nickel and corner due to the season-ending injury to Cole Martin, who was initially expected to start at nickel following the retirement of Macen Williams, after which ASU moved Shamari Simmons.
