By Bruce Pascoe, AZ Central|Arizona Republic via Yahoo Sports: Just in case the Arizona Wildcats didn’t already know that the Big 12 road ahead could be trouble, a stark reminder arrived Friday.
The Wildcats lost 83-76 in overtime to the team picked to finish 13th in the conference, West Virginia, in a Battle 4 Atlantis third-place game.
Arizona now has a losing record for the first time since Sean Miller’s first Arizona team went 3-4 to begin the 2009-10 season, finishing 16-15 that season without an NCAA or NIT invitation.
The Wildcats are now 1-5 in Battle 4 Atlantis games, having lost all three they played in the 2017-18 event, and they will likely fall out of the Top 25 on Monday as the 2017-18 Wildcats did following their struggles in The Bahamas.
