By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: College football season is upon as the preseason AP Top 25 rankings are coming in just two weeks. As college football fans saw last year, one does not have to be ranked to be elite after TCU emerged as a final four team despite not being mentioned in August.
Associated Press voters tabulate results weekly, with a new top 25 released every Sunday during the college football season.
