By Brad Crawford, 247Sports: Major college football programs spare no expense when it comes to facility upgrades and enhancements, but the arms race’s positive effects on recruiting slowed down in recent years. With more elite-level prospects preferring NIL conversations over where they spend most of their training sessions, athletic departments are forced to re-evaluate priorities in a new era.
That doesn’t mean significant enhancement to football-only facilities have stopped, however. Many of the nation’s top programs in the College Football Playoff race have locker rooms, training areas and indoor practice fields that rival their NFL brethren, many at a cost of $100 million-plus.
