By Brandon Marcello, 247Sports: The last offseason before major conference realignment in college football was predictably busy for the coaching carousel. Barring another late departure, there are 30 new head coaches in the FBS, the most since 2012. The carousel appears to have finally slowed so we can all catch our breath, examine the landscape and grade each hire.
In 2012, 31 head coaches were hired across the FBS. Is there a correlation? Perhaps. The spring of 2013 was approaching another inflection point for the sport as administrators prepared for an expanded four-team College Football Playoff in 2014.
